Fish and Beef Dual Entrees for Plated Dinner Party

Unmarried vs Dual Plated Entree?

My numbers are coming in and then under budget (YAY) that we are going to be able to upgrade some of our nutrient/drink plans! We had planned on a buffet and are at present transitioning to plated service. My caterer wants to know if we'd similar a single or a dual plated entree. I did some enquiry, but I've never been to a wedding with a dual plated entree. Take any of you lot? Would yous really want to be served chicken and fish both on a plate? I was thinking if I did the dual plate, we could change the chicken to a beef entree to take a "surf and turf" experience - only FH actually loves chicken. What are your thoughts?

    I personally have loved weddings where I got chicken and beef. However, if guests don't like 1 or other they are stuck with a smaller portion of the ane they exercise consume.

    I appreciate the hosting of a dual entrée but I would rather just exist served what I want to eat. I am not a huge fish fan simply would enjoy only chicken. Withal, I would experience similar I needed to eat the fish since it was put in front of me and I don't want to waste product it.

    When I've seen dual its usually chicken & shrimp or steak & shrimp. Shrimp aren't as filling as fish, craven or beefiness because they are usually just serving 2-4 shrimp at the second entree. But I agree I would not desire fish and craven on the same plate.

    I prefer single plated meals. With the dual option, you may take someone who doesn't eat i of the things on the plate so it is a waste.

    We did the filet and craven plate and information technology went over well. We were served the surf and turf at the same venue and there was a lot of passing of the fish portion around the table Smiley smile

    It could get dicey having a dual entree. People can be allergic to certain mains, especially seafood. My sis does not eat red meat for moral reasons so the beef on her plate would go to waste (and she won't affect any side items that take touched the meat). I personally practice not similar thought of craven and fish being adjacent to each other on my plate. I would notwithstanding with several choices of one entree a person and allow your guests pick whats all-time for them.

    We will exist serving a dual entree plate with chicken and a filet. I was at a wedding recently that did the dual entree plates and it was very quick for everyone to get their food. I was originally going to do stations but I didn't want dinner to terminal forever!

    Our catering had to come to our venue, from an off-site location, they could only offer u.s. one entrée, plus vegetarian and kids', considering of the logistics, storing, etc. We chose a duet of chicken and filet. For those who didn't eat red meat, they got 2 half portions of craven, and vice versa. Other guests may take switched themselves, at their tables. My parents accept done that, a few times.

    I'm going to a wedding this weekend and they have one duet (chicken and brusk ribs) and vegetarian. My sister'southward wedding offered 2 duets, plus vegetarian. I of her co-workers merely eats seafood, so they were able to switch it around, when serving. (They served from carts, that made the meals up at the table). To add some other entree would have been about $3 per person more, so she offered variety with the duet platters.

    Single plated. Or stick with buffet so people can pick what they want and you dont take to call them all for a choice, and upgrade to an actress entree/side or add together something else (up bar service, actress apps at cocktail hour, etc). I know people call back plated is nicer but I've always had better quality nutrient and been happier with my meal when I don't get a heap of fish/steak I won't swallow on my plate.

    We are doing a dual entree plate of craven and beef. Nosotros can do any combo so I call up we will be going craven marsala and beefiness tenderloin. Our veggie option is vegetable napolean.

    I would vote unmarried plate, purely because even though you're under budget, you don't necessarily have to spend it on the dinner. What yous could practice, if you lot need to hitting a limit ( which some venues have), offer your guests a selection between ii entrees. Most venues will add a small additional charge (typically $2-$4 pp) just that style anybody gets what they want and nothing is wasted.

    I would practise unmarried plate but offer two entrees that they tin can choose from ahead of time (so you lot'd tell caterer 100 beef and l chicken) or stick with buffet. Honestly, coming in nether budget, I would splurge on a longer open bar, transportation for guests to and from hotel, or save it for my honeymoon. Y'all are already hosting them with a repast so you've covered what etiquette requires.

    I've been to a couple weddings where we got a chicken/beefiness dual plate. I liked it only only because I eat both of those things. I likewise think craven and fish would be weird on the aforementioned plate (I don't like actually similar fish at weddings anyway because it's normally lukewarm, especially if it'south a plated repast with a lot of guests).

    More food is ever better in my opinion just if in that location was seafood on my plate I wouldn't touch it. I would just exercise the buffet if you want to give more than one selection.

    We're having dual plates of lemon salmon and chicken Francaise. Information technology was the most affordable choice for us and I think it'll become over well.

    Ask if you lot can meet information technology ahead of time. Our venue'south dual plates had teeny tiny portions of meat and so we opted for single.

    I made sure to go with single plated. When I was looking at the duel plated I knew if I were a guest i wouldn't desire to have chicken and crab cakes (for example) I hate crab cakes. Going threw the options we had it but didn't make sense to me to give my guests something they may non want and just have a small portion that they liked. I'd rather have them chose from the options and get what they would like.

    I vote unmarried entree instead of duet, because giving people a option is always better (this is why we're doing cafe)

    I was at a wedding recently where they didn't ask for meal preference, everybody got the beef and fish. About nobody at our table could or wanted to consume both, so everyone kind of picked over their plate and ate what they could. Nosotros can't swallow fish and the beef portion on its ain wasn't very much, so we made the about of the merely filling thing on the plate, the mashed potatoes. Nosotros were so hungry by the time the dancing really started that we left early, went habitation and had a snack.

    We are having a dual entree. That is the only option our caterer provided, and I am excited about it! Our portions are full size portions for each, and then it worked out meliorate for u.s.!
