Dean Joseph Norris [2] (born April 8, 1963) is an American actor. He is well known for playing DEA amanuensis Hank Schrader on the AMC series Breaking Bad (2008–2013). He also portrayed town councilman James "Big Jim" Rennie on the CBS series Nether the Dome (2013–2015)[3] and currently plays mob boss Clay "Uncle Daddy" Husser on the TNT series Claws. He reprised his role as Hank Schrader in the fifth season of the Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul (2020). Throughout his career, Norris has acted in nearly 50 movies and more than 100 different TV shows.

Norris has appeared in films such equally Lethal Weapon 2 (1989), Hard to Kill (1990), Total Call up (1990), Terminator ii: Judgment Day (1991), The Firm (1993), Starship Troopers (1997), The Cell (2000), Piffling Miss Sunshine (2006), Evan Almighty (2007), Sons of Liberty (2015), and The Book of Henry (2017).

Early life [edit]

Dean Joseph Norris was born in Due south Bend, Indiana on April 8, 1963 to Roman Catholic parents,[four] [5] Rosemarie (née Lacay; 1934–2012) and article of furniture shop owner Jack B. Norris (1930–2008).[6] His mother was born in South Bend to Hungarian immigrants,[seven] while his begetter, of English language and Scots descent, was born in Chicago earlier moving with his family to South Curve at one yr of age. Dean Norris has 5 sisters (Nancy, Jackie, Beth, Connie and Nikie), and i brother (Ron).[ citation needed ]

Career [edit]

Norris starred in Tremors: The Series and the pic Without Limits. He has had guest spots in other television serial including NYPD Bluish, The X-Files, The Due west Wing, and Lost, and has appeared in films including Gattaca and Terminator ii: Judgment Day. He played Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agent Hank Schrader on Breaking Bad from the bear witness'due south premiere in 2008 to its concluding flavor in 2013. Norris' performance on Breaking Bad has received disquisitional acclaim.[17] [18]

Personal life [edit]

Norris and his wife, Bridget, a former entertainment attorney, live with their v children in Temecula, California.[fifteen] In 2018, the couple opened the Norris Performing Arts Heart in Murrieta.[20]

Norris is a fan of his hometown team the Notre Matriarch Fighting Irish.[21]

In 2019, he helped launch Schraderbräu, Hank Schrader's in-universe home-brewed craft beer, as an official product.[22]
